RMC Smoke - Incense effect

RMC Smoke has been developed to create a smoky effect on oak without the generation of harmful or irritating gases. The product reacts to the tannic acids in the wood and creates a creative color effect. The result varies between a light and a very intense reddish brown hue.

Warning: This product is suitable for pre-treatment and does not protect wood. For maximum protection, it should be combined with one of the Rubio Monocoat finishing products, e.g. with Oil Plus 2C.

Gives a similar effect as smoking with ammonia.
Does not release any toxic fumes or vapours.
Can be diluted with water if the concentration is too high.

Instructions

Directions for manual application

Sand the planks until the desired effect has reached.
Remove any dust.
Apply RMC Fumed regularly using a roller or a brush. If a smooth effect is required saturate the surface completely with the product.
Let the surface dry completely (12 to 48 hours).
Sand the surface lightly with a polisher equipped with a beige pad.
Remove any dust again.
Finish with Rubio Monocoat Oil.

Consumption - manual application
Depending on type of wood and preparation: +/- 20 to 40 g/m2. These usages are merely indicative. Results depend on wood type and method of preparation. It is always recommended to make a sample in order to calculate the exact usage.

Directions for industrial application

Apply RMC Fumed regularly using a roller or a spray gun. If a smooth effect is required saturate the surface completely with the product.
Let the surface dry completely – to the air, with a drying tunnel or UV drying.
Sand the surface lightly with a brush sanding machine, flutter or nylon.
Remove any dust again.
