Rubio® Invisible Protector is a plant wood preservative that preserves the natural look and feel of wood. Revolutionary plant resin-based protection that can be used on almost all types of wood, even the darker varieties.

It has been specially developed for Rubio Monocoat Pre-Aging non-reactive stain treated surfaces to protect them from damage and abrasion while retaining its distinctive character. So applying Invisible Protector does not change the color of the pickled surface (it does not make it darker).

Tips & Tricks

To achieve the best results, Rubio Invisible Protector must be applied immediately after sanding.
Add 10 % water for the first layer on highly absorbent substrates or at higher temperatures.
When the product is poured out, we recommend waiting for 5 minutes to start working. This allows the air bubbles to disappear before applying the product.
Make sure to work with a well saturated roller (an unsaturated roller gives an uneven result).
We recommend using a new roller after each layer.
Always try to work wet in wet to avoid overlaps or drying marks.
It is better to work in lanes of 0,5-meter-wide and covering the total width of the room to finish.
Make sure the underfloor heating is deactivated, preferably a couple of days before the job.
Try to avoid too much ventilation during the application, this to prevent drying too fast.
We recommend keeping doors and windows closed.
Avoid direct sunlight on the surface.
Rubio Invisible Protector is not compatible with Rubio Monocoat Tannin Primer.

Instructions

Application by roller to untreated wood

Sand the surface to the desired smoothness (120 grit) and check that the surface is free of scratches.
Thoroughly remove sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Treat the floor immediately after sanding (due to wood oxidation).
Shake the Rubio Invisible Protector well until all deposits have disappeared.
Allow the Rubio Invisible Protector to stabilize at room temperature (ideally between 18 and 25 ° C) for a few minutes. The ideal humidity is below 70%.
Apply the first coat of Rubio Invisible Protector using the Rubio White Roller, approx. 80 g / m². Allow to dry for 3-4 hours.
Apply the second undiluted layer to the surface with the Rubio White Roller for approx. 75 g / m². Allow to dry for 16-24 hours (overnight).
It is recommended to perform an intermediate sanding with a grain size of 220/240 and remove the sanding powder thoroughly before applying the last coat. The last layer is approx. apply at a rate of 75 g / m². Allow to dry for 16-24 hours (overnight).
