FR Base - FR - Oil System

The Rubio®Monocoat FR oil system is a fire retardant solution for parquet, a combination of

the Rubio Monocoat FR Base primer for fire retardant pretreatment and
the Rubio Monocoat FR Oil for coating, which is a modified fire-retardant version of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C.

The system does not form a film layer, does not contain salts and limits smoke formation. It has been developed mainly for the treatment of larger objects, such as wooden surfaces in public buildings, which must meet certain fire protection regulations, so the fire-retardant properties of the treated surfaces are of paramount importance.

Rubio Monocoat FR Base can be stored in a dry place for up to 12 months.

Important

The fire protection certificate (Bfl, Cfl) always applies to the combination of oil and floor, as the combustion characteristics depend on many parameters (wood type, material thicknesses, adhesive used, etc.).
Given the specialized character of this system, each project is supervised individually. Contact our services for advice.

Manual application
Rubio Monocoat FR Base:

Sand the surface and eliminate dust.
Apply Rubio Monocoat FR Base with a brush or roller. Then polish with a polishing machine with a white pad (polishing rag). Handle zones from 5 to 10 m² at a time.
Allow the surface to dry. The drying time is approximately 12 hours at room temperature (depending on ventilation and humidity).

(Rubio Monocoat Fr Oil:

4. Apply Rubio Monocoat FR Oil with a cotton cloth, a brush (either manually or with a polish machine) or a squeegee (rubber bladed broom) with fleece. Always end the treatment in the direction of the wood. Handle zones from 5 to 10 m² at a time.
Allow the product to react for a couple of minutes.
Remove the surplus product manually within 15 minutes, either with a cloth or with a polishing machine with a white pad (polishing rag).
The floor can be walked on after 24 - 36 hours.)
